Course Description
This is a one year UC/CSU approved course in which students will learn basic video production skills. It meets the Fine Arts graduation requirement and follows the Visual and Performing Arts state standards. Students use video equipment such as DV cameras, tripods, microphones, and editing and recording decks to produce videos. Students also learn Macintosh hardware and digital video editing software. Students work individually and in groups, experiencing various roles such as producer, director, camera operator, sound and lighting person, and interviewer. They study film history and compositional techniques. Projects will be both school-related and creative endeavors. Acceptance into a second year of Video Production is dependent on a passing grade in year one or instructor approval.
