Uniform Policy
Proposed AUSD HIGH SCHOOL UNIFORM DRESS CODE, 2010-2011
The Antioch Unified School District requires all students who choose to attend Antioch HS to wear a uniform.
AUSD’S HIGH SCHOOL UNIFORM:
School IDs must be displayed above the waist.
SOLID black, grey, white or denim bottoms.
SOLID black or gold tops (undershirts must be white, gold or black).
Sweatshirts, sweaters, light jackets, and outer wear (jackets, coats) must be
- SOLID black or SOLID white.
- Patterns are approved in school colors for tops, only.
- Antioch HS sweatshirts are recommended and available in quantity.
- Non-School Logos must be no larger than the size of a “quarter” coin.
- Appropriate academy attire is permitted.
STANDARDS/RULES:
- Size appropriate clothing is required. (No baggy or sagging pants permitted)
- Approved Antioch HS spirit t-shirts may be worn daily.
- No bare midriffs, tank tops, swimsuits, short shorts, transparent garments, beach attire, low neckline, low back line, spaghetti straps, or shoulder exposing garments are permitted. (backs may not be exposed)
- Undergarments may not be exposed.
- Antioch HS team jerseys and warm-ups may be worn.
- Shoes must adhere to AUSD standards – no slippers, no “flip flops”, or backless shoes.
- Shorts and skirts must be at a minimum mid-thigh length.
- Hoods must remain down at all times on campus. (exceptions are outside during inclement weather only)
- Hats, wave caps, bandannas, hairnets, combs, or head coverings of any kind are not permitted unless provided by AHS for sun protection.
- Tears, holes, patches, slits in the seams, and ragged hems in clothes and shoes are not permitted.
- Chains, badges, patches, spiked accessories, and initialed belt buckles are not permitted.
- Gang-related writing on backpacks, shoes, and clothing are not permitted.
- Leggings must be SOLID black, white, or grey.
- Pajamas are not permitted.
ENFORCEMENT:
Uniform violators will be given every opportunity to change into the correct Antioch/Antioch HS uniforms. Repeat offenders are subject to progressive discipline.
